I can’t find any information to set up dialing into your servers.

Adaptive Hosting is a web hosting company, not an Internet Service Provider (ISP).  You must have your own connection to the Internet in order to connect to our servers and the Internet in general.

How long does it take for my account to be set-up?

We strive to set-up all new accounts in under 2 hours.  We guarantee your account will be set-up within 24 hours.

What are all these extra accounts in IMail for?

In the IMail server, do NOT delete your administrator or root users.  If you delete the administrator user, you will not be able to access the IMail server as an administrator.  Also, do NOT delete the “nobody” alias if one is set-up for you.  This is a system alias that will redirect all mail sent to an unknown user on your server to your “root” user.  You may set the “nobody” alias to point to your administrator account.

I changed my password through the IMail administrator, but I still have to use my old password to access my FTP site.

Your FTP and E-mail passwords are two separate accounts.  You may change your e-mail password through the IMail administration page.

I can’t send any mail.

If you are unable to send any e-mail, or receive an error message, try changing your outgoing (SMTP) mail server to your ISP.  Many ISP's block access to their SMTP port 25 from outside SMTP Servers such as ours.

I receive an HTTP 500 Internal Server error when browsing my web pages.

All Internet Explorer browsers by default are set to display "Friendly Error Messages" to the user.  All ASP and script errors are HTTP 500 errors.  Most likely it is not a server related problem but caused by an error in your script.  To see the actual error that is being generated, you will need to go in your Browser to Tools,  Internet Options, Advanced Tab and then find the check box
called "Show Friendly HTTP Error Messages" and UNCheck it.  When sending us a support request please include the error so we may assist you.

I can’t pull up my account by the domain name, but it works fine by the IP address.

At the bottom of your account information e-mail, you will find a link to check if your domain has been moved and/or setup by InterNIC.  You will not be able to receive e-mail on our mail servers or access your web site by its domain name until this change takes place.  Please note it takes InterNIC three (3) business days to propagate new domains worldwide.

I published by site in FrontPage, now all my links don’t work.

When a major change is made to your web site using FrontPage, always recalculate your hyperlinks.  FrontPage should automatically recalculate your hyperlinks during uploading, however it doesn’t always work.  This occurs especially when a search bot is implemented in your web site, or a major change is made.  You may do this by opening your site in FrontPage on our servers, clicking on Tools, then Recalculate Hyperlinks.

I set up a mail form on my site, but the mail never gets sent.

If you don’t specify a from email address on your form, many ISP’s will begin blocking e-mail because they think it is SPAM (i.e. “Null Sender”), simply make sure your form has a “from” variable.

Where are my raw log files?

Your raw log files, used to check web site statistics, are found in directory called “w3svc???” with NT. You must request that they are set-up for your site.
